This month, Advantage Moving and Storage would like to recognize Katie Podl Fish as our Realtor of the Month! In Katie’s line of work, she plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the stressful task of moving is as simple as possible. Katie does a fantastic job of advising her clients throughout the process. We took a chance to speak with Katie to find out a little more about her and what makes her unique.
How long have you been in the real estate industry?
23 fun-filled years! I started in new home construction sales with Pulte Homes and then Centex Homes. After 15 years, I then moved on to Keller Williams. I love it!
What made you decide to become a realtor?
After working for new home builders for 15 years, I was ready to run my own business. Being a Realtor allows me to change my service to my clients’ needs WHEN they need me.
What differentiates you from other realtors?
As a life-long resident of the Fox Valley area and of St. Charles, I bring a wealth of information to my clients. I am familiar with neighborhoods, schools and local news…because I live here!
My knowledge of homes, construction and values of homes will help my clients sell their homes faster and find the new home of their dreams! My industry experience provides me with a keen sense of value and price. For my sellers, I pride myself on watching the market and comparable properties to hit the right price point immediately upon listing, creating a price frenzy, and hopefully multiple offers. For my buyers, I have an extensive knowledge of the area that my clients are looking in and if I don’t, I know who to get them in contact with to make sure we meet their needs accordingly. I thoroughly interview my clients to assure that I am providing them the service that they need to get them selling and/or buying their property as quickly as possible, meeting their service expectations all along the way. Plus, I have an AMAZING team and network to back me up!
I strive to be a “research-based sales consultant” rather than a standard Realtor, because the numbers need to be understood in order to buy or sell in this market. The market is SO driven by technology and Keller Williams does a great job of keeping us up to date with that! The technology available to my clients is so helpful and educating. Through this technology, my clients become very wise on what a home is worth. This greatly helps the search and listing process as we can hit the right price points right from the beginning.
What piece of advice would you give someone looking to buy a new house?
You need someone who knows the area you are looking in – inside and out! I can work with you to find the right home at the right price for you, including all the neighborhood amenities that matter – not to mention the essential criteria you have for your ideal home. I would also say in today’s market – move quickly. Homes are selling so fast and if my clients love something or want to sell, I tell them not to hesitate in making an offer or put it out there. What is your favorite thing to do in the Chicagoland area?
Any Cubs game, any day – rain or shine! I am also a Pilates enthusiast and love spending time with my family!
